I’m Daniel. For fifteen years I’ve lived out of monthly stays, mostly across Asia, and more of those months have been in Bangkok than anywhere else on earth. I don’t have a house. I have a bag, a laptop 3 years past due for a replacement, and a way of booking rooms and apartments that took me most of a decade to get right. This site is that method, written down so you don’t have to spend the decade.
It started in Nepal. Then India cracked the whole thing open, and Southeast Asia became the center of gravity later, the way it does when you keep coming back to the same few sois until they turn into home. In Bangkok that means the eastern Sukhumvit corridor: On Nut, Phra Khanong, Punnawithi, and out to Bang Na. I landed there half by accident years ago, in a cheap room I booked from photos, and I’ve based there by choice ever since. The crowd is English teachers, working expats, and Thai families, which suited me fine. There are stints in Chiang Mai and Pai in the mix too, months rather than years, and a longer trail through Vietnam, the Philippines, India, and Nepal.
What this site is: accommodation for month-plus stays, and the practical stack that makes those stays work, the eSIM, the bank card that doesn’t bleed you at every ATM, the insurance most digital nomad I know skip, even though they shouldn’t. Not a fortnight’s holiday. A month, three months, the kind of stay where a tall desk, a fridge, and a reliable train matter more than a rooftop pool you’ll use twice.
Here’s why you can trust the recommendations. I book my own stays on the same platforms I link here, at the same monthly rates you’ll pay. No press trips, no comped rooms, nobody handing me a suite in exchange for a kind paragraph. Some links earn a commission when you book through them, which costs you nothing and pays for the site; the full version of that is on the affiliate disclosure page. The recommendation never bends to the commission. When the right answer is “take the train and a cheap Grab bike instead of renting the scooter,” I write that, even on the page that would rather sell you the scooter.
What it won’t be is a churned “top 10 everything” content farm. I’d rather give you four places I’d live in myself than forty I scraped off a booking site. Fewer picks, written deep, is the whole idea.
